The idea behind the site
If you're like our typical visitor, you're probably here because you got a traffic ticket in New Jersey. As you may have already figured out, it's a nightmare trying to figure out what your fines are, how many points you're getting, what happens when you go to court, so on and so on. Trying to find info on the State's website is next to impossible. Looking elsewhere around the internet, you'll find lots of sites made by lawyers telling you that you need to call them to find out what you need to know, or scammers selling you tips on the magic ways to "beat your ticket." Well, that's where this site comes in. I've compiled lots of info related to the traffic laws in the State of New Jersey, and it's all here, free for the taking.
What can I find on this site?
Nobody likes getting a traffic ticket, but sometimes bad things happen to good people. This site was created to give the average New Jersey motorist a general idea as to what our State's traffic laws are like, and what their options might be when they are charged with violating them. I might not be able to list every single traffic offense imaginable, but I'll provide as much info as I can on the most common violations. I'll also try like hell to keep everything up to date, but there may be changes from time to time that I'm not aware of. Hey, you try to keep up with NJ's crazy State Government and let me know how you make out. :-)
What this site is not...
This site is not going to instruct you on how to prepare a legal defense to a charge. It is not legal advice, or a substitue for contacting a qualified legal representative. It is not affiliated, endorsed, or related in any way to any government agency. If you're looking for something official, check out the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission website.
I do include some of my personal opinions on this site (For example, what I feel might be the best course of action for dealing with charges), but they are only exactly that, my personal opinions, not legal advice. I am not a lawyer, and my opinions should not be construed as legal advice.
